33 years in Japan…24 years in Tokyo…and now a transition to a life in rural northern Tochigi. I’ve just purchased my first house and I’m leaving city life behind to make a move to the countryside.

My new life in Nasu awaits, and I am feeling a mix of emotions. While I am looking forward to my new rural environs, I am saddened at leaving my home in the center of the best city on the planet. I am trading the excitement of urban hustle and bustle for the peace and calm of rolling hills and valleys. The incessant sounds of traffic and sirens are soon to be replaced by the songs of birds and frogs.

A new chapter in my life is about to begin and I look forward to documenting this transition along with other adventures as I continue my travels through this wonderful county.
